KP Oli Cup National Cricket: Gandaki and Kathmandu into final

Kaski- Gandaki Heroes and CEC Kathmandu have qualified for the final of the second edition of the KP Oli Cup T-20 National Men’s Cricket Tournament being held in Pokhara.

In the first semi-final match played for only five overs due to rain, Kathmandu defeated Himal Friends Cricket Academy by 10 runs and entered the final.

Batting first after losing the toss, Kathmandu, scored 57 runs in five overs. Himal Friends were bundled out for 47 runs for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated five overs.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final between Gandaki Heroes and Attariya was decided on the basis of a toss after rain stopped play in between the first innings.

Attariya, invited to bat first after losing the toss, had scored 46 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the third ball of 13th over when rainfall stopped the match. Since, the match could not be continued it was decided based on a toss. Gandaki ended up lucky to qualify for the final.

A total of 16 teams competed in the competition organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. The final match will be held tomorrow.

The winner team will receive Rs 1 million in cash while the runner-up Rs 500,000 along with a trophy, medal and certificate.

Similarly, the ‘Man of the Series’ will receive a cash prize of Rs 30,000, while the best bowler and best batsman will each receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a trophy, according to the organizers.
